Plates and Miles
Terms of Service

Plates and Miles is an app for keeping track of the meals you eat out and the trips you take, and for sharing the good ones with people you choose. These terms are the agreement between you and Plates and Miles ("we", "us") for using the app and the service behind it. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it for a service like this. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to your email, which is how you sign in.
2. Your account
You sign in with a code sent to your email. There is no password to remember, which also means anyone with access to your inbox could sign in as you, so keep it safe. You can sign out of every device from the Account screen. You can delete your account at any time from Account, under Your data; deletion is confirmed by a code sent to your email and is permanent.
3. What you post
Meals, trips, stops, photos, ratings, reviews and notes you add are yours. Anything you keep private stays private to you and the people you explicitly share it with. When you post something to the board, share a link, or add a stop to a trip you share with others, you give us permission to show it to the people it is shared with, in the app and on shared pages, for as long as it stays posted or shared. Unposting or deleting it ends that.
You agree not to post anything that is illegal, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, deceptive, an advertisement, someone else's private information, or something you do not have the right to share. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behaviour. We may hide or remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, without notice where the situation calls for it.
4. Reporting and blocking
Every post has a report option, and every profile can be blocked. Reports are read by our team within 24 hours and content that breaks these terms is taken down. A blocked person cannot see your posts or contact you through the app, and you will not see theirs.
5. Receipts and paperwork
The app reads receipts to fill in a meal for you and lets you keep tickets and booking confirmations with a trip. Reading is automatic and can be wrong; check the details before you rely on them. Do not upload documents that contain full payment card numbers or other people's personal details.
6. Places, maps and distances
Place names, addresses, map tiles and distances come from Google Maps Platform and are subject to Google's terms. We do our best to show the right place, but a restaurant can move or close; confirm before you go.
7. Money shown in the app
Costs, splits and budgets are for your own records. The app does not move money and is not a financial service. Settling up with friends happens outside the app.
8. Our service
We work hard to keep the app available and your data safe, but the service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We may change or stop features, and we will give reasonable notice of any change that affects your data. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
